This is an exhibition proposal statement. The title of the exhibition would be: "The Space Between Chaos and Order."
I believe to be an artist
not only requires mastering the foundational skills of a particular
craft, master the techńe,
but I also believe an artist needs to move
beyond the comfort level that comes with the
mastery of a particular techńe and move
into the spatial realm of the imaginary, the unknown, the unseeable and
uncomfortable.
This spatial realm is raw and fresh.
I
believe this creative space exists between chaos and order.
I paint abstractly because
of my desire to create and live in the space between chaos and order as
much as I can.
In a space where the unimaginable can be
imagined.
I do not believe it is my job to teach
techńe, I do believe it is my job to teach how to imagine the
unimaginable and to teach how to think differently.
As an artist, this job is always in
perpetual motion, always changing and extremely exciting. |

"The Space Between Chaos and Order."
I believe to be an artist
not only requires mastering the foundational skills of a particular craft,
master the techńe,
but I also believe an artist needs to move beyond
the comfort level that comes with the
mastery of a particular techńe and move into the
spatial realm of the imaginary, the unknown, the unseeable and uncomfortable.
This spatial realm is raw and fresh.
I
believe this creative space exists between chaos and order.
I believe that an artist
should not bound by a particular techńe.
The notion of techńe wears many costumes in the
arts, it is for the most part visible, it frequently implies order, control and
mastery.
It is easy to become lost in the abyss of manipulation,
control, expertise and order just as it is easy to become lost in the abyss of
chaos.
Chaos too appears in many costumes and for the most part
implies a complete state of disorder or confusion.
I believe there is a beautiful space between chaos and order, it's a space where artists are able think differently. It's where the fresh, the raw, the unique appear. It is a creative space that is hard to find and stay in. It is a creative space that is not bound by history, but it has a history. It is a space that is not bound by time but it appears in time. It is a space that is invisible, but when imagined becomes visible. It is a space were artists imagine the unimaginable.
